Go Togo!

Always a sucker for an underdog (bad stocks, strange shades of lipstick, odd haircuts, little yappy type dogs, chocolate cake, French music that goes boing, etc.), I am now officially a fan of Togo. It doesn't hurt that they export coffee and cocoa, although I probably don't want to know too much about how that happens. Just a feeling. . . . .

Other things I now know about the feisty Togolese Republic, courtesy our friends at the CIA Factbook:

9 airports, 2 of which have paved runways

Money laundering is not a significant problem

50 km of the Mono river are navigable seasonally

Internet country code: .tg

Towns include Mango and Soutouboua (what more do you need to know? Don't you love Togo, too? Almost as much as Finland?)

Update: While leading 1-0 over Korea at half time, Togo went down to dignified defeat when all was said and done. Perhaps not enough of us were cheering for them.
