Ridiculous fiction

"Louis Pasteur's theory of germs is ridiculous fiction" --Pierre Pachet, Professor of Physiology at Toulouse, 1872

Ridiculous but apparently rather beautiful. Now, do you suppose that the germs are the mucusy prickle bombs or the radiant blue prickle bombs? I think I prefer to think of my beleagured immune system as being composed at the moment of slightly dippy little bluebird/hedgehog/asterisk creatures bobbing weakly around my crimson matrix, hands flapping ridiculously in the air, eyes squeezed shut, pretending that they just do not SEE what is coming to get them. They just do not SEE that they are really playing roller derby with some serious hellions outta Detroit and are still all worried about their manicure and whether their Toni perms are wound too tightly.

I think I have a fever.
